I got a craving for a good pair of sunglasses a while back. I was tired of the 10 dollar cheapo’s at the gas station. I had a pair of Frogskins back in the days, and I wanted to give Oakley XX a shot of my funds. Oakley XX metal is one of the most expensive looking sunglasses made. They just look worth the money when you see them up close. Unlike designer sunglasses that you just pay to have the name stamped on the side.
As far as Oakley goes, these are relatively plain and simple. The Oakley XX is certainly not extreme, but it is also far from what I’d consider conservative. I suppose for that reason I never really felt that I needed these until the collegiate series came and went. As an Oakley fan, I figured I had to get these Oakley XX sunglasses.
The frame of Oakley XX metal has a tight grip, but never seem to pinch or get uncomfortable. I’ve worn them in wind and never felt a hint of slippage. I have sensitive skin around my face, and with a lot of sunglasses I’ll break out on the contact points. I rarely have a problem with my Oakley XX. The optical clarity is great too. The very first time I wore my Oakley XX outside, I took them off and on about three times. I could see much better with the Oakley’s on, even though they aren’t prescription lenses. I adore these Oakley XX sunglasses. I never have to squint and I can wear them even in the brightest light conditions.
The lenses of Oakley XX metal are extremely delicate. They can scratch easily and you can only clean them with a special Oakley microfiber bag that comes with the glasses. Make sure that you don’t rub them with your shirt to clean if gets dirty. I had a friend that did this and the mirror coating rubbed right off. You can either take the bag with you wherever you go or just wait to clean them off. Because I’m a little obsessed about keeping my lenses clean, I always carry the bag with me wherever I go.
Out of all Oakley sunglasses, this stands out the most. I loved the color combination and the lenses. The only disappointing thing about Oakley XX metal is the lack of lens choice. But nevertheless these sunglasses are very loud and you’ll get the attention of people indeed. Perfectly fits my big head. Nothing but positive, I’m sticking with this! These are killer sunglasses to have!
