I have been ogling on Oakley Canteen for quite some time now and have been planning to buy it online since I travel a lot and would want to spend my free time sleeping at my hotel. I searched it on the internet and found a reputable Oakley seller at EBay. I contacted him and ordered a pair of Oakley Canteen sunglasses and an extra Oakley Canteen replacement lenses just in case it gets ruined. I received the package without delay and was very happy, excited and very satisfied with the transaction.
Oakley Canteen sunglasses have a very tight fit and are perfect for people with smaller heads just like me. I have an Oakley Gascan and have trouble wearing them because it is just too narrow around the front temples so the ear stems splay out in the back. The Oakley Canteen isn’t a whole lot wider but they do manage to wrap around a little better than the Gascans.
While the Oakley Canteen replacement lenses are still very square, they do not feel as tall as Gascan, and they taper slightly toward the hinges to give a somewhat more streamlined appearance. The ear stems are a decent length and have some curvature and Unobtainium earsocks to provide a good grip on your head.
The Oakley Canteen has a great coverage. I mainly use them for driving when there is sun, but not that bright. Also I have read that there are people who can see the frame when they look to one side. Well, that’s true, but only a very little bit. So for driving long distance it is still very comfortable while not being too tight, it doesn’t take much of your view. Like Gascan, peripheral vision suffers a bit due to the squareness and tall ear stems. I find that I need to turn my head more than usual to be able to check my blind spot when driving.
I love the way these Oakley Canteen sunglasses mix square and round elements. I know Oakley is getting a little flak from some of the old-timers but I like the new line of fashion conscious styles. The fins coming down off the ear stems look killer. The finish on these Oakley Canteen sunglasses is holding up exponentially better. It’s been a little over 2 months and they still look mint. I can’t wait to see what else they come up with to use the new square icon. Try them on, and then buy them. You definitely won’t be disappointed!
